Sulawesi Shrimp Ponds

Indonesia

The Sulawesi abandoned shrimp farm restoration project is all on APL (village owned) land in SE Sulawesi.  This project has a Project Idea Note prepared and is being supported by a Blue Carbon Accelerator Fund grant to finalise the document in DRAM format for the Indonesian SRN and to take through the various steps needed under the new Indonesian blue carbon legislation to take it through approval. If successful, this will be the first mangrove restoration project in Indonesia that is funded by the issuance of carbon credits on the voluntary market.
